General FAQs

  • Solar panels are custom ordered. The order and delivery process takes about 6 weeks after your deposit is received and typically take 2-3 days to install. For opening/closing, we will schedule as close to your desired date as possible (see your contract). We will NOT give you an exact time for your scheduled appointment. At most, we will give you the order of your appointment. Please be patient as no appointment goes exactly as planned.

  • Light rain can typically be worked through. However, we cannot legally/safely work during a thunder storm. Your appointment will be rescheduled within the following week.

  • You do not need to be home for any of our services as long as we have access to your equipment. Payment is due at the time of completion. We will contact you upon leaving with total and links to acceptable payment platforms.

    During a solar install, customers cannot to be outside while we are working on your roof. Plan your day accordingly.

  • You will be notified of your appointment the week prior. You will be charged a cancellation fee if you cancel or reschedule your appointment without giving notice 48 hours minimum prior to the start of the scheduled appointment. The cancellation fee will be 20% of the total service (plus your non-refundable deposit).

    In case of bad weather: If cancellation/reschedule is made by the customer, fee still applies. If CBS reschedules, the customer will see no additional fee.

  • A basic cleaning (brush/vacuum) for up to 45min is included in your O/C service. We will do what we can and leave instructions for after we leave, if needed.

    We HIGHLY recommend Back to Blue by Poolife, sold by Clean Water Pools and Spas. This product only works for pools with a backwash option on their filter.

  • Payment is due at the time of service. We will reach out to you with the total and payment options upon completion.

    A 10% late fee will be added to your invoice after 5 business days. Our cancellation fee is 20% (see cancellation policy above).

Solar Pool Heating FAQs

  • The primary benefit of using solar energy to heat your pool is a financial one: in the medium and long term, it’s much cheaper. You’ll also get more use out of your pool as your swim season will double in length; and the system is easy to use and maintain. Solar heating for pools is an environmentally responsible choice, and that alone is considered a huge benefit by many of our customers.

  • A solar pool heating system is the only heater that eliminates expensive pool heating utility bills. Natural gas and propane heaters are less expensive to install initially but have a significantly higher operating cost. Oil heaters and electric heat pumps cost about the same upfront as solar.

  • Yes. The heating system absorbs solar radiation which is present even during cloudy conditions. Any solar radiation absorbed by the system is then transferred into the pool water. The system does not heat at night when the ambient air temperature is lower than 60 degrees, or when it is raining.

  • The solar collectors are typically mounted on roofs. They can, however, be placed in any area near the pool that provides the proper exposure, orientation and tilt toward the sun.

  • You will recieve a quote within 24 hours of your request. Once you are ready to pull the trigger, a 50% non-refundable deposit will be required. Your equipment should be delivered within 6 weeks. Your remaining balance will be due at completion.
